How to validate a Uruguayan ID card (CI)
How the check digit works
A Uruguayan CI has 7 or 8 digits including the check digit (left-padded with zeros to 8).
- Multiply the first 7 digits by
2,9,8,7,6,3,4and add up. - Check digit =
(10 − sum mod 10) mod 10.
