How to validate a Chilean RUT

How the check digit works

A RUT/RUN is a 7 or 8-digit number plus a check digit (0–9 or K), computed with mod 11:

1. Walk the number right to left multiplying by 2,3,4,5,6,7, then restart at 2.
2. Add up and compute r = 11 − (sum mod 11).
3. If r = 11 the digit is 0; if r = 10 it is K; otherwise r.

Validate with the API

Direct use is free: 50 requests per IP per day, no signup. Endpoints: POST /validate, POST /batch, GET /generate/{doc_type} (for testing only: synthetic data, not real identities).
